GELIGNITE IN MOTOR-CAR.
WOMAN KILLED IN EXPLOSION. (XTNITEP PSESa ASSOCIATION—BT ELECTRIC 'I BLEGBAJ>H—COPTEWnt.) SUVA, June 17. A shocking tragedy occurred at the Nasinu stone-crusher last evening. Mr H. Sabben, Government mechanical engineer, with his wife, arrived with explosives and stores in a car. Mr Sabben leit the car and a minute or two later there was an explosion. Mr Elliott, manager of the stone-crusher, was approaching the oar, and both he and Mr Sabben were flung to the f round, but escaped serious injury, arts 'of Mrs Sabben'a body were found three chains away over tne creek, and some of her clothing was wrapped round the windscreen some yards away. The car contained fifty pounds ot gelignite, two hundred detonators, and a quantity of benzine Mrs Sabben was the daughter of Mr White, a Woolwich leather factory manager. The cause of the explosion is a mystery.
