THE WAIMAKARIRI.
FLOOD ANTICIPATED. The hot weather and nor'-west wind of yesterday combined to melt the snow on the Alps, and caused a fresh in the Waimakariri river. At the latest reading of the gauge at White's Bridge last evening at 7 p.m. the water had risen six inches. It is anticipated that this morning the river will tie up in flood.
