VENUE OF DIVORCE PROCEEDINGS. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TEL2OUU.) HAMILTON, December 5. "No doubt the papers will see that proper publicity is given to the case," remarked Mr Justice Herdman in the Supreme Court to-day when the venue of divorce proceedings was questioned. Lawrence Spencer Durie, bank clerk, of Eltham, sought divorce agaiust his wife, Beatrice Margaret Durie. His Honour asked why proceedings had been instituted in Hamilton. Counsel explained that Hamilton had never been made tho venue of proceedings for reasons of privacy when restitution of conjugal rights was sought, and consequently the second action was brought in the same Court. His Honour, while agreeing that both actions should be taken in tho same Court, made the observation quoted.
