MAGISTERIAL. SATURDAY, (Beforo Mr H. A. Young, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. Two first offenders for drunkenness were each fined 20s, the amount of their bail. David Courtenay was fined 10s, iu default 24 hours' imprisonment, for drunkenness. David Evans, similarly charged, was fined 205. in default 48 hours' imprisonment. Edward Henry Robert liister, who was described as "a methylated spirits drinker." w:is fined A' 3, in default 7 days' imprisonment lor drunkenness. John MuLeod, an old age pensioner, for drunkenness, was fined 20s, in default -IS hours, and a prohibition order was issued against hiin. JUVENILE COURT. (Before Messrs E. D. Moslcy, S.M., T. W. West, J.P., and Mrs A. E. Herbert, J.P.) Five lads were charged with wilfully damlifting four electric light bulbs, the property uf the Heathcote County Council, to the value of £1 lis. They were further charged with throwing stones and damaging property. They pleaded guilty to each charge. One of the boys was represented by Mr .McCarthy. Each of the boys was placed under the care of the Child Welfare Officer for two years. Kor cycling on a footpath, a 12 years' old bov was lined i.'.s lid and costs.
