PORT FREMANTLE'S RECORD RUN.
♦ The Commonwealth and Dominion Line motor-ship Port Frcmantle, which is on her second voyage from London to Australian ports, has established a record for the run from London to Melbourne direct. On her first voyage she made the trip in slightly morc than 34 days' actual steaming time, in spite of several slight breakdowns in the engine-room. This was claimed as a record for the run,, but on this trip the vessel has taken only 33 days 12 hours from Dover to the Port Phillip Heads. The average speed was logged at 14.61 knots.
