CANTERBURY CENTRE MEETING

A meeting of tho Kxecutivo of the Canterbury Centre of tho N.Z.A.A.A. was _ held Inst night. Freseut were: Messrs W. F. Flewcllvn (chairman), R. Beattic, A. L. Lewis, K. Todd, K. H. Cross, M. Lcudbetter, C. H. Taylor, jun„ C. S. McCully, and {*. Q. -Lockwood (secretary). Permission was given the Pleasant Point Caledonian Society to hold two events, 410 yds and 880 yds, at its annual meeting on December 29th. /-.„„ The selectors, Messrs Taylor and Cross, reported that C. J. Thompson had been added for the UOyds, and A H. Candj would bo selected for the 880 yd* .n the event of A. A. Smith being unavailable, h. U. t.. Taylor had challenged for the mile, and D. W/ltain replaced J. McKec m the mite. J. K Dickson had entered a challenge against a' K. Joseph for the long jump. Permission was granted the Kadio Broadcasting Company to broadcast descriptions and results of races during the meeting. Mr Loekwood moved that it be a rem, to the New Zealand Conference that the selector* of the New Zealand team be two, one from each Island. Tho motion w.
