COMBINED PRESS CLUB V. VETERANS. A Combined Preaa Club team defeated a Veterans' Club eleven at Hagley Park yesterday afternoon by 37 runs. Batting first, on an easy wicket but with a. slow outfield, Veterans made 79, towards which. A. "White was chi«f contributor with a steadily compiled 35 not ouL Butler 14 and Brook 13 were the other double-figure scorers. Archer and K. Thomson were the most successful bowlers for the Pressmen, who in their innings made 116 (J. Mahoney 27, H Anderson 22, N. Archer 20, and P. C. K. Thomson 17). H.
