BUS GOES OVER BRIDGE.

PASSENGERS BADLY BURNED. (by cable—press association—copyright.) (australian and h.z. cable association.) (Received November 21st, 8.20 p.m.) SYDNEY, November 21. A Melbourne motor-bus, carrying 27 passengers, mostly employees at the Hanro knitting mills, crashed through a bridge into Ironbark Creek, near Bendigo. The bus caught fire, and several passengers were badly burned. Twenty-five were treated in the Bendigo Hospital for burns, abrasions, and other injuries, and 14 were admitted, five of them being reported serious cases. BRAKES FAIL. (Received November 22nd, 1.12 a.m.) MELBOURNE, November 21. The motor-bus accident was caused through the failure of the brakes, the bus colliding with the side of the bridge and falling into the gully.
