♦ MI? WILLIAM BELL. ■;PRESS ASSOCIATION" TELEGRAM.) BLENHEIM, November 17. The death occurred yesterday of Mr William Bell, aged seventy-four. He was one of the early settlers of Marlborough, the owner of the Flax mere and Valleyfield sheep stations, and a prominent breeder of Romney Marsh sheep. Mr Bell landed in Nelson in 1876, coming to Waiiau in 1873, where, a few years later he and his brother, the late James Bell, purchased the Nortfcbank run which, a quarter of a century later, was acquired by the Government for close settlement. His only son is Dr. Gordon Bell. wbo_ is professor of surgery at Otago University.
