GERALDINE.
PERSONAL. Mr T. Cheyne Farnie returned to Geraldine on Monday from Christchurch. Mr and Mrs F. IT. Fish returned to Geraldine on Monday, after spending a fortnight at Christchurch. Band Concert. The Geraldine Town and District Band paid a week-end visit to Fairlie, where they received a cordial welcome from local bandsmen and citizens. They played in the Park during the afternoon to a large and appreciative audience, after which Mrs Smith entertained the visitors to afternoon tea. In the evening a good crowd assembled in the Aorangi Hall, where another musical programme drew frequent applause. Bishop's Visit. The Ht. Rev. Dr. Brodie, Catholic Bishop of Christchurch. paid a visit to Geraldine. arriving on Saturday evening as a guest of the Presbytery." On Sunday, morning, the Bishop, assisted by the Kev. Father Herbert, celebrated Mass at 10.30, and afterwards held a Confirmation service at which 86 candidates were presented.- Later on Father Herbert motored the Bishop to Timaru, where he held another Confirmation service.
