TO THE EDITOE OX THE rBBSS. Sir,—ln relation to the Rev. Bower Black's tirade against Spiritualism, his ignorance of the subject astounds me. Please allow me to assist him to a better understanding of our position. The first principle of our declaration is as follows: "We believe in Infinite Intelligent*—a God of Love-Our Eternal Father." There is nothing uncertain about our faith in such a beliel. Mr Bower Black informs the world generally that the "God he worships has too much to do to indulge in table lappings, and groanings m darkened rooms." Beyond appealing to tho Divine Blessing Spiritualists wouldn t dare to lend themselves to such an utterance as recorded above. \\o shrink from such familinnty. ine clothing worn by the faithful departed need not occasion so nmcli disappointment in the heart of Mr Bower Black. Personally, I should prefer to wear a tailored suit and a Stetson to a celestial nightshirt, harp, and crown. It is all a matter of taste. Departed loved ones are not "at the call of an> medium to move the furniture about. Mediums generally are constantly appealed to by those "loved ones to Arrest attention to the eternal rent es associated with the "uncertain iaitli of modern S^jritua^^oura.^c., Christchurch, November loth.
