ANNOYING TRAFFIC INSPECTORS.
TO THE FMTOR 07 THE MESS. Sir,—ls it necessary for a traffic inspector to be either a "humorist',' or "ladies' man"? Is he there-for fun and to romp'with children? Are our crowded crossings to bo turned into playgrounds for irresponsible flappers.-; I should have thought that the post of traffio inspector was as important as that of engine-driver, signal-man, or pilot, any distraction or interruption to whom may cause an accident to the, public. ~ I am very sorry for him, and equally so for the pedestrians (me amongst the rest),' whose lives he is there to protect. Truly, an inspectors life is not a happy one.—Yours etc DAMNONIA. November loth, 1927.
