WELSH COAL FIELDS.
A SERIOUS POSITION. (by cable—pbess association—copyright.) (austbaliah and v.z. cable association.) (Received November 14th, 10.45 p.m.) LONDON, November 13. In view of the seriousness of the situation on the South Wales coalfields, the coal-owners have convened a joint conference with the men's leaders on Monday to consider the burdens of the industry. There are now 40,000 unemployed miners in South Wales and Monmouthshire, apart from those working short time.
