COUNTING THE COINS. (BY CABLE—PKEBS ASSOCIATION— COPSBIGBT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.S. CABLB ASSOCIATION.) (Eeceived November 14th, 10.45 p.m.) LONDON, November 13. The task of the counting of 40,000,000 pennies, 2,000,000 silver coins, and 100,000 notes and cheques, the proceeds of the sale of thirty million poppies throughout the country on behalf of ex-service men on Armistice Day, has begun. The British Legion is satisfied that the Prince of Wales's appeal for £500,000 will be more than realised. ARMISTICE DAY SALE. (BRITISH OFFICIAL WIRELESS.) RUGBY, November 13. One of the organisers of the British. Legion Poppy Fund, referring to the Armistice Day sale of poppies, says there is every possibility that the sum of £500,000, which was aimed at, was passed ou Friday. Altogether 30,000,000 poppies were distributed throughout the country, and over 2,000,000 leaflets and posters were issued in connexion with the effort.
