CHICAGO CRIME.

ANOTHER WAVE. THREATENED. (bt cable—phiss association—copteiqbt.) (austbalian and n.z. cable association.) (Received November 14th, 7.45 p.m.) NEW YORK, November 13. Chicago City is threatened with a resumption of the crime Avave which reached its apex a year or two ago. The police have been ordered to carry guns exposed, in order to beat gunmen, on the draw. The conditions are forcing prominent leaders in politics and business into reform movements and engage bodyguards who pose as secretaries. The Illinois Vigilance Association states that the decadence of Chicago morals makes the streets unsafe at night. Women are terrorised at the possibility of being kidnapped, taken in automobiles to lonely spots and assaulted. The most recent case is that of the murder of a young woman who on Saturday was hurled from' an automobile when she repulsed her attackers. In some instances girls are kidnapped from their escorts. The Association believes that a net of corruption and vice has been spread over industry, which corrupts the police and employs steady counsel and bondsmen. MURDERS IN NEW YORK. (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z.
