WOMEN SWIMMERS.
CHANNEL RACE. j (teok otm ow* coßßsspoKDMn:.) LONDON, September 30. An international Channel swimming race for women will be held nest year. The event is being organised by the women's section of the Swimming League of Nations founded by Channel swimmers. Mrs Corson, of America, who swam the Channel in August last year, is the leader of the and so far the following famous swimmers hare decided to compete in addition to Mrs Corson:—Miss Janscn (Denmark), Mme. Sion (France), and Mrs Vierkotter (Germany). No English woman swimmer has yet .added her name to the list, but it is expected there will be several competitors in this novel race when the tim©' arrives. All competitors will have to start at the same time and place., which is to be mutually arranged, and the coveted trophy is to be one well worth swimming for.
