NORTH BRIGHTON SCHOOL.
At the monthly, meeting of the North Brighton School Committee there were present: Messrs E. A. ST.- Leaver (chairman), S. S. Freeborn (secretary), A.' Florence, J. F. Eames, R. Parker, R. Stringer, the Rev. W. F. Knowles, Mesdamos McGillivray and Goring. The headmaster's report showed a roll number of 273, with an average attendance of 248.2, which is a considerable improvement on the previous returns for this year. The financial result of the concert given recently by Mr Arthur Lilly and members of the Avonside Church Choir, was considered very satisfactory, and a vote of thanks to Mr Lilly and the ladies and gentlemen who assisted at the concert. In connexion with the proposal to permit entry into the school by representatives of religious organisations to give Bible instruction for one half hour each week, the voting papers returned by parents showed 83 for the proposal and 30 ag.\inst. The Rev. W. F. Knowles was asked to confer with representatives of religious organisations and the headmaster with a view to carrying out the proposal. It was decided to award prizes to the children as in previous years.
