BIG DECREASES REPORTED. (BY CABLE—PSBBS ASSOCIATIOK—COPYRIGHT.) (ACSTBALIAJf AND N.Z. CABLI ASSOCIATION.) (Received November 10th, 11.15 p.m.) PARIS, November 10. The reorganisation proceeding in the French Army has resulted in a decrease of 13 per cent, on the 1926 figures. Successive reductions amount to 45 per cent, compared with the prewar strength. The period of military service has _ been reduced since the war successively from three years to' two, then one and a half, and now one year.

. Meanwhile the navy's pre-war tonnage is halved. There have been con» siderable reductions in the total expenditure on the armed forces since 1922, when the cost was eight per cent, below the pre-war level. It is pointed out that all the decreases were made in spite of the new commitments in Morocco and other colonies and mandated territories.
