BURWOOD SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

At the monthly meeting of the Burwood School Committee there were present:— Messrs .T. Liggins (chairman), W. Smyth, H. Keaby, .T. McKeehnie, A. McNab, F. Reaby. The chairman reported that a net profit of £23 15s 3d had been made in connexion with the recent, concert. A rvote of thanks was accorded Mr Liggins for the arrAngement of the programme. The secretary was Instructed to wrote lo Mr Alec Day expressing the committee's thanks to himself and party for the excellent, entertainment provided. The headmaster was authorised to procure sports material and to collect the rent, of the te.nms court to meet expenses. The headmaster s report, showed the roll to be 152, and the average daily attendance 144.. Mr Hawort.h, the school's probationer, had been successful in the recent, teachers' examination, and Miss M. Rowe had been appointed an extra •assistant on the staff. It was, decided to leave the award of the dux medals to the headmaster, with a recommendation that conduct and sport should be taken into consideration. Messrs T\ Reaby and A. McNab were appointed a Visiting Committee for the month.
