NOTES AND MEMORANDA.

The foundation stone of. the new brick Sunday School Hall will b« laid by Mr J. A. Flesher, at Clarence road Methodist Church, Kiccarton, at 2.30 thiß afternoon.

An organ recital will be given by Br. Bradshaw in the Cathedral os Thursday evening at 8 o'clock. The Loyal Orange Institution, Chriatchuroh, will church service in connexion with the November celebration*, in the Orange Hall, on Sunday. An entertainment and dance will be held in the Allandale hall to-night. Whist will be played in the Cadena tear rooms to-night. A special meeting will be held at the corner of Edenhill and Mt. Pleasant roads at 7.30 o'oloek this evening for the purpose of discussing the present construction of the new school.
