TECHNICAL COLLEGE.
BOARD' OF GOVERNORS MEETS
The monthly meeting of the Christchurch Technical College Board of Governors was held last evening. Those present were:— Mr McGregor Wright (chairman), and Messrs Q. E. Franklin, W. R. Gahagan, W. Johnson, W. Jones, J. W. Graham, J. W. Roberts, G. T. Thurston, T. W. West, and Mrs Herbert. Apologies were received from Messrs Seta Smith, E. H. Andrews, and W. H. Winsor, The financial statement showed receipts amounting to £2148 9s 4d, and expenditure £1977 Is 7d, credit balance £l2O 16s 2d. Accounts amounting to £263 8s 6d were passed for payment. The Appointments Committee reported that it had under consideration tho engagement of a physical training instructor to take up her duties in the school next year.—Tho report was adopted.
The Appointment Committee reported that it had appointed Miss J. S. Wilson, 8.A., at present games mistress in the Harwich County High School, to the vacancy caused by the resignation of Miss Cramond. (Miss Wilson has accepted the position, and will commonce her duties in February, 1928.) The committee recommended that an application from Miss A. L. Partridge for six months' leave of absence from February Ist, 1928, on account of ill-health, be granted. Tho report was adopted. Subscriptions were received from the N.Z. Motor Traders' Association £5 ss, Plumbers' and Gasfitters' Union £2 3s, Engine Drivers' Union £1 Is, Builders' and Contractors' Association £7 7s, Furniture Trade Union £2 2s, Canterbury A and P. Association £lO.
