SOCIAL AND DANCE. At the Arno Miniature Ttiflc Club's annual dance and presentation of prizes there wa.s a large attendance. Items were contributed by Miss Sauer, Mrs Meyers, Mr and Mrs Winning, Miss L. Wall, Messrs Foster, Holmes, Nelson, and Carter. Mr H. Mills, K. Wright; Mr W. Bryce's, Mr Meredith; Mr H. Meredith's, J. McKenzie; Mr J. Thomas's, I. Thomas; Mr H. Meredith's, E. Tavendale; Mr J. Mathewson's, E. C. Wright; Mr C. Wright's', G. Thomas; Mr G. Keartou's, KWright; Mr C. Olorenshaw's, U. Kiddle; Wright button, J. McKenzie; runner-up for club championship, I. Thomas; aggregate of matches, E. C. Wright; highest score of last shoot without slings, E. 0. Wright. Music was supplied by Mr T. Hamilton. Mr P. McCrossan was M.C.

Waituna Women's Institute. At the monthly meeting of tho Waituna Women's Institute, Mrs Dash.and Miss C. Mcllraitli were the hostesses. The afternoon was devoted to basketmaking, Mrs Elder making a very capable instructress. A competition. "Bottled Fruit," was won bv Mrs Elder.

Personal; Mr C. Harrison, of Christchurch, is spending a few days with his parents in Waimate. Mr C. V. Black has returned to Waimater after a visit to Ihvcrcnrgill. Mr M. P. Lyng is spending a fortnight in Timaru.

Barman's Bankruptcy. The meeting of creditors called in the bankrupt estate of William Blair Allen, barman, lapsefl for want, of a quorum. . Bankrupt's debts were set' down at £137 los lOd, of which £79 12s lid was owing to unsecured creditors, the remaining £SB 2s lid representing the difference owing to secured creditors and the amount the securities.were estimated to produce. The {secured creditors were G. W. Collett, amount of debt £6OO and interest £l9 3s lOd. and Malcolm Allen, debt £3OO and interest £3B 19s Id. ' The estimated valuo of the securities was £9OO and the total debts to secured creditors were £958 2s lid. The unsecured creditors were: Graham and Clear £lB 7s, C.F.O.A. £l7 6s 4d F Nash £4 0s 3d, W. IX Paterson £5 Os Sd, P. F. Moore £7 12s, V. 8. Eathornc £0 lvs 6d, Herberts Ltd. (Timaru) £3 l»s\ H.
