EASY WIN FOR CHRIST'S COLLEGE. SOME EXCELLENT CONTESTS. Fine, bright weather, and a track in S°od order ensured most iavourablo conditions for the Inter-Secondary Schools sports meeting held yesterday on St. Andrew's College ground before a large number of spectators and supporters ;, of the various schools. Although Christ's College eventually won by a bis margin of points, competition in every event was verv keen. . . The open championship was won again dj Christ's College, their team being individually much superior to any of the <>twe«. St. Andrew's Collceo and Boys' High bcliool had a keen struggle for second place. 1-irsi place in all events but two was secured u> Christ's College. St. Bede's College failed to score. The under 15 championship was won by Boys', High School (12 points), with Christ s College (S points) second, and Technical College (5 points) third. St. Bede's secured one point, while AVest Christchurch failed to score. . . , Two records were lowered during the day. H. B. Johnstone clipped l-sth see off the SSO vards. and B. V. Anderson added IJin to the high jump under 15 record. Johnstone in the distance events, and Murray in the sprints, ' were tho outstanding competitors. Coop, tho St. Andrew's champion, was not in the best of health. The officials were: —Referee, Mr J. B. Mawson; judges: track events, Father Dowlmg, Messrs Arnott and Monteath; field events. Father Monaghan, Messrs Goldstono and Montgomery; timekeepers, Father Oullen, Messrs Thompson. Flower, and Stewart; starter, Mr G. S. Strack; track steward, Mr M. Leadbettcr; recorder, Mr J. D. At tho beginning of tho second lap Harley was loading, followed by East, with Johnstone fourth. Half a lap from homo Johnstono was again in front, and in tho, sprint to the tape won by two yards. Johnstone assumed the lead from tho stavt and wus never headed. A good sprint took Lunn into second plnce. 880 yds, under 15 (record, 2min 20 2-ssec, Boys' High School, 1925)—8. Hydo (8.H.8.) 1, C.
