FIVE YEARS' IMPRISONMENT
(press association tei-egbam.) • AUCKLAND, November 2. In the Supremo Court, Judge Reed sentenced Arthur Herbert Eden, fortytwo, on a charge of committing rape and assault on a young woman of nineteen, to five years' hard labour. His Honour said: "The police report and the evidence satisfies me that you are one of the most dangerous types of sexual maniacs. It is clear that you used your shop for procuring and, if possible, defiling young girls. How many you succeeded in defiling I don't know, but I would not be doing my duty to tho community if I did not confine you to prison for a lengthy period.'*
