Mr Ernest Makowa, of Melbourne, has purchased a collection of clothing including the shirt, skullcap, and jabot worn by King Charles I. on the scaffold, and has presented it to the London Museum. The collection had been the property of the Earls of Lindsey for ten generations. It was recently offered for sale on condition that it should remain in a national institution.
