CUSTOMS RETURNS.
CSWSTCHURCH FIGURES FOR OCTOBER. Tie result of the large witadr»wsU of spirits irom bond ia anticipation of the dut? being increased is being felt by the Customs Department in the almost entire absence of any clearances of spirits from bond daring last month. It is roughly estimated that there bag been sufficient clearances made to render further clearances unnecessary for two or three months. The decrease in receipts of Customs dues at Chmtchurch last month, as compared 'with Octoher, 1926, amounting "to" £43.736, is due ' almost ' entirely to the very small clearances of spirits during last month.
