[ In the stock and bond section, £3OO 4J 1 per. cent. 193S bonds changed hands at £96 7s 6d, but the demand at that price exceeded the supply' and market closed, buyers £36 7a 6d, no sellers offering. Makerui. Drainage Boa-rd 6 per cent. 1946 debenture entered the selling list at £lO2 10s, the return at that price being .£5 17s Sd per cent. a3d with redemption ±*s 163 6d per cent. In the banking section, Bank of Adelaide were slightly firmer, buyers quoting £8 15s 6d, sellers £8 17s 6d. National Bank of New Zealand were easier at £6 16s 6d buyers, £6 17a 6d sellers. Five Bank of >"ew South Wales shares were released at £44 0s 6d, market closing £43 17s 6d buyers, £-14 2s 6d sellers. Bank of New Zealand were sold at 58s—57s''l0d was bid for more — sellers asking 5Ss 3d. Union Bank declined further to sellers £l4 23 6d without attracting buyers. Rights to lho new shares were 6old at 49s and 1 parcels at 55s —market ' finishing slightly easier with buyers 433 6d, sellers 49s Sd. The new shares of this company do not participate in the dividend and bonus announced yesterday, but will now rank in equality with the old shares.
