"BAXTER'S" AND THE BRIDGE PARTY.

Two married couples from Wellington recently' stopped at the United Service Hotel; Christchurch, on their way to Mount Cook. A Christchurch friend dropped in one evening and invited them out to a bridge party. One of the ladies explained that she could not very well go, as she 'had' a sore throat, and she thought that she was in for a bout of influenza'.
