A FORTNIGHT'S GAOL.
—— ♦-.—,-- PESTERED A GIRL. (PBESS AS3OCIATIOH TILEGKAH.) DANNEVIRKE, October 31. Thomas Lane Pennicoat, alias Taylor, appeared' before Justices charged with being found without lawful excuse in a serrant's 'room at the Club Hotel, DanneVirke. Accused, a married man, came to Palmerston .North on Saturday to see a girl who is working at. tho hotel. His attentions were unwelcome, but be persisted in annoying the girl, who complained to tho police. When spoken to accused promised to return to Palmerston North immediately, but did not go. He continued to annoy the girl, who. to get rid of him, promised to go to the pictures with him. Later accused was found by a friend of tho girl in. complainant's room, and was arrested. Accused was given fourteen days without-the option, and was remanded to Auokland on a charge of failure to maintain his child.
