"It is an offshoot of the permanent 1 hair wave," she explains. "The tattoo marks do rot show, and the cheeks will be blooming even when they are withered, while the system, it is stated, is not injurious. "One great advantage is that it abolishes for all time the lipstick said powder. Women do not seem to mind the fact that the process is tcdiou3 j and' painful. The reception room was gay with bowls of pale pink blossom, and pink flowers and maidenhair fern added to the attractive appearance of the tea table. Mrs James Hight acted as hostess, and was assisted by Mrs H. G. Denham. On behalf of the g,uests, Mrs f Highfc presented the departing guest j with a handsome entree dish, and wished her and I>r. Chilton the greatest ' happiness in their new home in Nelson. Mrs Chilton, who was much moved, gratefully acknowledged the kindness of her friends,. with some ->i whom' she had been happily associated for many years. Those present were: —Mesdames J. Hight, H.
