LONDON'S TRANSPORT.
+- - CO-ORDINATION SCHEME FORMULATED. SRITISH OFFICIAL 11P.RLESS.) RUGBY, October 26. A far-reaching scheme for the coordination of London's passenger transport services has been formulated by the London and Home Counties Traffic Advisory Committee, and submitted for the consideration of the Minister for Transport (Mr "Wilfred Ashley). It is understood that Cabinet has decided that the scheme shall be submitted to all the traffic authorities concerned for an expression of their views, and the report is now published in full.
The proposals contemplate the consolidation of the underground railways, tramways, and omnibuses, under a unified management, subject to public control and pooling, and the distribution of the surplus revenues ol the undertakings concerned. The committee is convinced that it its recommendations are adopted the various undertakings can be made self-supporting without any increase in the general level of fares now prevailing. It is proposed that, it" the scheme -s adopted, it should continue to operate for a minimum period of 4- years, subject to revision or alteration within that period only by the genera, consent of the parties
