MAGISTERIAL. "WEDNESDAY. (Ecfore Mr H. P. Lawn-, S.M.) BREACH OF ORDER. George de la Roche, aged -46 years,' was charged with {ailing to comply with a maintenance order and with a breach o£ his prohibition order. Mr P. .Tones, Maintenance' Officer, asked leave to withdraw th« first charge. He etatcd that accused had been convicted and sentenced to six months' imprisonment- last October, but the warrant had been suspended. lie asked permission to execute the warrant. The first charge was withdrawn, and accused was remanded until to-day on the I second charge. CROSSING CASE. Charles Robert Manson, for attempting to drive over a railway crossing when the line was not clear, wss fined £o and costs. It. was etatrd in evidence that, defendant bad driven c-vcr the crossing in fipite of the fact, tlint the keeper had given the danger signal. " An engine had been within fifteen yards of the crossing. SOLD A RIFLE. • "William Thomas Wright, for selling an air-rifle to a person under 1G years of age," was fined 20a and coats. The rifle was confiscated. LABELS INCORRECT. Ester G. McLaughlin was charged with selling plum jam having a labsl attached that did not contain the required particulars. Mr A. W. Brown stated that the. jam was home-made. The labels attached to the jar 3 did not indicate the weight of the contents. Defendant was fined 20s and costs. For a. similar offence, Thomas L. "Wilson was fined 20s and costs. CASES ADJOURNED. "William Henry "Ward, licensee of the Zetland Hotel, w«s charged with selling and exposing liquor for Bale a.fter hours, and wit.h opening for sale after hours. Clarence Ward, his sou, was charged that, being a person otlipr than t-he licensee, ho unlawfully supplied liquor after hours. After hearing the evidence, his Worship adjourned the cases sine die. . Andrew McAnulty, for being found on the licensed premises of the Zetland Hotel after hours, wa« fined 20s and costs. A PROHIBITION. ORDER. Victor Marcantelli, for a, breach of his prohibition order, va3 fined 20s and-costs.
