With both legs broken and a number of serious bodily injuries, Kichard Henry Merrick, aged 38, single, was admitted to the Auckland Hospital this afternoon. The injured man was employed as a carpenter on the new railway sheds in course of construction at Auckland station. Slipping from a "irder. he fell a distance of 40ft, landing on a stack of timber. His condition is regarded as serious.
