Captain Kingsford-Smith announces that he expects to hop off on November 4th. It is understood that the 'plane Southern Cross will be .taken up shortly in a series of test flights with a full load from Ensenada Beach, Lower California, provided authorisation from the Mexican Government is secured. No difficulties in this respect are anticipated. The final improvements are being made to a huge Fokkor, which will be taken to Mexican territory during next week, and after the tests it will return to staff for Australia, which will most likely be made from the Oakland municipnl airport on Bay Farm Island. The tests at Ensenada will be even more thorough than actual necessity demands, as pilots and navigators wish to get as much time in the air as possiblo to familiarise themselves thoroughly with all instruments, and be able to cope with any situation or weather conditions. FLYING BOATS AT NAPLES. (BKITtSH OFFICIAL WIRELESS.) KUGBY, October 21. The four British E.A.F. flying-boats on their way from London to Australia left Berre in the South of France this morning and reached Naples. Captain Lancaster and Mrs- Keith Miller, who are flying to Australia in the aeroplane Bed Rose, left Naples this morning for Malta.

There was no trace of the aviators. De Lesseps was the second man to fly the English Channel/and one of Canada's first aviators.
