Sir,—The mood of querulous cynicism in which you discuss the projected national summer • school to be held at Nelson nest January is unworthy of your editorial columns. movement, which functions at the centre of the Empire under the patronage of the Prince of Wales, the presidency of V iscount Burnham, and the direction of the Right Hon. Mr Fisher, has -earned the warmest tributes from the Prime Minister, the President of the Board of Education, the Secretary of State for India, the Secretary of State for the Dominions, Sir Michael Sadler, Sir John-Adams,.and other distinguished men, who have personally addressed the school while in session. In New Zealand our school has the warm endorsement of his Excellency the Governor-General, whose opening speech last January was a real inspiration to the assembled teachers.
