BROADCASTING PROGRAMMES.
'•■. TO THB EDITO* OT. THB FKBSB. Sir—A good deal has been said in criticism of the programmes provided by the Broadcasting Company, and there is no doubt -that the qualifications of many of the performers arc of low grade. I -feel, however, that "Valve Set" is off the track when he says that it is monotonous to have the Radio Christchurch Trio four nights weekly. As a lover of good music and of some experience, I would say that the items played by these artists (professionals of high standing) arc> the gems of beauty in programmes, many of which would otherwise be dull and uninteresting. I do hope, then, that if the Broadcasting Company does makes changes that the present trio will be retained.—Yours etc. CHAMBER MUblO.
TO THB EDITOR OT THE TSBSS. Sir,-What a ,pity that people so ignorant in the musical world should attack the programmes and the musical director and air their assumed grievances through such channels as vour valued paper. Some people want good music; others the other extreme. Those who appreciate the latter cannot tolerate the former, and vice-*ven»a. Wlat this musical director has, to contend with other than this I-do not know, but he has my deepest sympathy. I can imagine this poor individual trying to arrange programmes. What sauce for the"goose is not always sauce for tho gander.—Yours etc., • GOOSY GANDER.
