NORTH BRIGHTON.
The fortnightly meeting of the North Brighton United Band of Hope was held in the Peace Memorial Hall, when Mr J. Richardson presided over a largo attendance of adults and children. A capital programme was provided by members of the New Brighton Band of Hope, items being contributed by Misses Gwen Sherlock, Muriel Kershaw, Jane McFadzien. Betty Woodyatt, and Olive. Wyatt. Miss Duleie Hull acted as accompanist. On behalf of the North Brighton Band of Hope, Messrs Parker and 0. Dixon thanked Mrs Hull and* the performers for ' the splendid programme which they had provided. : The North Beach Peace Memorial Hall was well filled on Thursday evening,- when the members of the Avonside Church choir, under the leadership of Mr Arthur Lilley, contributed a splendid musical programme, in aid of; the funds 'of the North Brighton School. Songs were contributed by Mesdames Daisy Pearce.Harrv Jones, H. Baker, Misses Sylvia Marshall, Hilda Hutt. and Messrs Q. V. Smith. Greg. Russell, H. V. Ward. 0. Ward, and : Cecil Christian. Several elocutionary items were given by Mr J. J. Flewellcn, solo dances.by Miss Enid Lawson, while the choir contributed part-songs. The Rev. w. *• Knowles..on behalf of the School Committee, thanked Mr Lilley an.' the members of his choir for their kindness in providing suchi tin enjovablo' concert. At the close a short dance was held, for which Mrs Ross Smith supplied the music.
