SCHOOL FOOTBALL.
A HEADMASTER'S VIEWS. j "School football in New Zealand has j reached & crisis, and it rests with the old j boys of the Dominion secondary schools , ■whether it retains its present place in the schools," said Mr W. Thomas, rector of Timaru Boys' High School, when speaking of secondary school games at the reunion of old boys last night. Mr Thomas said that at present Rugby was the principal game in Timaru High School, but he could not say if it would remain so. After such scandals as the Ranfurly Shield one it was time to look into matters. Personally, he would like to see all trophies given for football thrown over a cliff. It was the game for its own sake, not for the prize, that mattered. OXFORD CLUB. The following will represent Oxford ▼.
