A profesaional boxing Johnny Lockie (Dunedin, fist ÜBV and Mark Carroll (Wanganm), 9st 4Jlb.took place to-night. The bout was wheduled for 16 rounds for a purse of £IOO. but in the leventh round, .in which Carroll was down three times, rising at the count of 9 each time, the referee stopped the contest thirty aeconds before the end of the round LecHe had the better of matters in praetically every round, fluite out-boxing his opponent, who tried without eucceue to make it an in-fight. ____
