Y.M.C.A. SPORTS.
A SUCCESSFUL MEETING. The Y.M.C.A. Amateur Athletic Club held a further meeting on Fraser Park, when there were good entries in all the events except in the 100 yds. Slow times were done in the various races, although the track was in great order The following are the results: — One Mile Handicap— F. F. Simpson (scr) 1, R. Davies (40yds) 2. A. H. Malcolm (30yds) 3. Time, smin 14 j4-ssec. 100yds—First haat: T. Forrester (9yda) 1, L. M. Dudley (6Jyds) 2, R: Judge (Byds) 3. Won by two feet, with inches between the other placed men. Time, 10 3-Ssec. Second heat: 0. Matthews (9yds) 1, J. H Russell (Syds) 2, G. C. Allen (7yds) 8. Won by a foot, with Allen inobes away. Time, 10 8-sseo. Final: T. Forrester (9yds) and a Matthews (9yds) (dead-heat) 1, JH. Russell (4yds) 2. A great race: six inches would have c6vered the whole field. Time, 10 l-ssec. In the run-off Forrester won by inches after a neck-and-neck race. Time, 10 2-ssec. Putting the Shot —C. F. Knowles (scr) 1, R. Seaton (12in) 2. J. Verity (12in) 3. Distance, Sift lOin. Half-Mile Walk —D. G. Sinclair (50yds) 1. The judge would not admit any other of the competitors, although one or two others seemed to give a fair exhibition. Time. 4min 10 2-ssec. 440 yds Handicap—A. H. Malcolm (15yds) 1, J. h. Morrison (20yds) 2, F. F. Simpson (30yds)' 3. Won by ten yards. Time, | 5S 2-ss«. |
