Fishermen have' been meeting with aood sport in the Waitaki Kiver this season, and anglers from Timaru, Oamaru, Waimate, and the surrounding districts have been trying their rods in tho river. Some very good bags have been recorded, and the fish, which have ranged up to 141b, have been u _ exceptionally good condition The river at She present time is in good fishing order, but the nor'-westers now being experien ed are liable to cause the river to flood at anv time. The quinnat salmon Save not yet commenced to run, and Jo far only a few have been seen.
