WAIMATE SWIMMING SPORTS.

The Arno Swimming Club were favoured with perfect weather for their carnival yesterday, which was held in a beautiful stretch of water in the Waihao river, at McCulloch's bridge, about Bis miles from Waimate. A special train, which left Wa:mato at 1.80 p.m., conveyed a large number of interested spectators and picnickers to this delightful spot, and many made their way there per medium of the motor-car and luolor-buscs.
