USEFUL WORK FOR THE UNEMPLOYED.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE PIIESS. Sir, —Something might be done to assist two or three men in the present unemployment trouble, and at the same time contribute to the enjoyment of the public, if a walking track were formed up the Old Dry Bush road, linking up with the Dyer's Pass road, or Summit road. The Dry Bush road runs up what is now known as the Huntsbury Spur, St. Martins, and I venture to suggest that a walk via this road would make a very good change for thoao walking up Dyer's Pass road, who could then return via Dry Bush road route, passing the Children's Home and the Soldiers' Sanatorium, and take the St. Martins car into town. I am sure if an appeal were made tbe funds would bo forthcoming as I suppose the hill work could be done for £SO-£6O, and I would not mind contributing a £5 note towards the start of such a fund. —Yours, etc., PEDESTRIAN. January 20th.
