FIERCE BLIZZARD.
+-. RUSSIA SWEPT. (bt cable —press association—copyright.) ("the times.") RIGA, January 18. A violent blizzard, which started in mid-December, and has since raged day and night, continues in middle Russia and Siberia, causing immense damage. Communications have been interrupted. Government dispatches from Samara state that the loss of life must bo heavy. Relief parties, endeavouring to restore communication, discovered SO frozen bodies in a single canton near Samara.
Many areas as far, south as trie Southern Urals are appealing for pro? visions and fuel, biifc snowdrifts block all railway transport.
