LONDON, January 18,
Lloyds Register, in the annual sun> mary of the world's shipbuilding for 1920, shows that 600 vessels pf a tonr page of 1,674,000 were launched throughput the world, pf which 339,000 was in Great Britain and Ireland.' The decrease throughout the wprld, compared with 1925, wa§ 518,000 tons, and the decrease in Great Britain and, Ire? land was 445,000 tons. Compared .nth, the record year, 1919,.the decrease for the world was nearly §,500,000 tons. The launchings included twenty-two vessels of a tpnnage of over 10,000, and eight of a tonnage pf over 15,000, The largest vessel wag the turbine steamer He de France, of 43,00Q tons. The' tonnage aflpat in June, 1926, was 5P,117,0Q0, cotapa?e4 with 42,514,000 in June, 1014\ The tonnage of tankers was now v 5,§55,G00. commre'd with 1,479,000 in 1914, and motor ships 3;500,000, com, pared with 234,000. while the tonnage pf steamers fitted with oil fuel was. compared -with 1,310,000,
