THE UNEMPLOYED.

NUMBER STILL GROWING. WORK FOR THIRTY MEN. A further twelve men, six of them married, and with 26 dependants, registered as unemployed at the Government Labour Bureau yesterday. The number now on the roll is over 200, the total having increased 6teadily since the holidays. In accordance with its recent decision the Citizens' Unemployment Committee has made a selection of 30 men in the poorest circumstances. They will commence work on Monday, and under the direction of the superintendent, will be employed in the City reserves. These men will be given one week's employment, which will be paid for with the last of the money at the disposal of the Citizens' Committee.
