When the hour of the Maheiio's delayed departure for Melbourne, via the SoutJi, arrived today, no solution had been found to end the dispute between the firemen and the cooks and stewards of the vessel, although the officials of both unions had endoavoured to make somo arrangement suitable to both parties. With no other solution of the trouble appearing possible, the Union Company decided to pay off the crew of the vessel and lay her up indefinitely at Wellington.
