DRAINAGE BOARD.
MEMBERS ELECTED. CONTEST IN WOOLSTON. The only seat on the- Christclmreh Drainage Board, which will be -contested at the election on January 25th. is that for AVoolston, where the sitting member, Mr D. Uowse, is opposed by Mr Charles Hill, a former member of tlio Board. Nomimxtrons closed at noon yesterday, and in eleven of the twelve districts the nominees have been elected unopposed. Mr Hill is a Labour nominee, the other members having been nominated by the Christchurch Citizens' Association. There are about 35,000 voters on the roll for the area, and 2000 for tho Woolston district. The nominees are as under:— Woolston—Messrs D. Bowse and Charles Hill. Avon—Mr W. J. Walter. North-west—Mr S. ('. Bingham. North-east Mr AV. 11. Carey. South-west—Mr C. S. McCully. South-east—Mr H. G. Livingstone. St Albans—Mr J. AV. Beanland. Linwood—Mr H. J". Otle.v. Sydenham—Mr AV. C. Large. .Sprevdon—Mr A. T. Smith. Riccarton—Mr E. If. S. Hamilton. Heathcote—Mr IT. Hill.
