>r ; ® g ELLESMERE AQUATIC CLUB. 0 The.annual regatta of the Ellesmere Aquatic Club was lield oa New Year's Day at sc the ideal inland water resort at Fisherman's Point, Lake EllesmtTe. The weather was oppressively hot until after midday, but iu the afternoon a light breeze relieved 2 the close atmosphere. There was a gentle r, ripple on the water, which in every way !r favoured the aquatic i»oes. Tho Club had r e made every possible preparation for the il convenience of visitors, and large numhers of people, including soveral from Christa church, took the opportunity of enjoying 1- a picnic outing at the Lake. Many were ! S tempted to indulge in bathing, and motor- =, boat passenger excursions were well patronised. Among the visitors were tlie Hon. d Sir It. Heaton Rhodes, M.L.C., Lady Rhodes, and Mr David Jones, M.P. The lUlesmtre Highland Pipe Band contributed bright musi- , cal selections. The programme included races for motorboats and row-boats, swimming races, and a 2 few athletic events, tho majority of which drew good entries. , Except for considerable delays m tlie ■I. commencement of the races, the programme was capablv managed. Air Alex McLaugli,fi lin is president of mo Aquatic Club, and Mr It. Bruce again capably tilled the office Of secretary and treasurer. . The following were (ho results of the 1 races: 2 MOTOR.
