MORE RATIONAL.
girls of to-day. A PENETRATING CRITICISM. (BT CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received January 2nd, 5.5 p.m.) LOXDON, January 1. "I think you will find girls to-day invariably skip the books which wcro the favourites of their grandmothers; thcy must have either the most modern books or genuine antiques," said Miss Fnithfull, principal of the Ladies' College, Cheltenham, at the Headmistresses' Conference. -- She added: "The girl of to-day is much more philosophic and rational than the girls of twenty years ago, but she is far too well satisfied with her own crude and raw opinions, and needs discussion with older pcofle. Girls today are brutally frank; we can be brutally frank with them. There are things w*e can and must discuss with them —things which no one discussed twenty years ago."
